The aim is to help adults make sense of what may be happening beneath the surface for a young person so they can respond with greater confidence, understanding, compassion and effectiveness.
Children deserve informed adults supporting them.
My work is grounded in attachment theory, developmental trauma, therapeutic parenting principles and relational psychology. I believe that robust psychological understanding should sit alongside practical, legal, educational and social care support, helping adults make informed decisions and promote emotional safety wherever possible.
Every child and family is unique. Rather than offering quick answers or one-size-fits-all advice, I prefer to provide a thoughtful, reflective space where parents and professionals can develop psychological understanding to apply to their own individual circumstances.
I am an independent Assistant Clinical Psychologist/Research Psychologist. My professional interests include:
attachment and relational trauma
parent-child relationship rupture
developmental trauma
therapeutic parenting
domestic abuse - particularly coercive control
psychologically-informed practice in education settings
intersection of trauma and neurodiversity
I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MA in Understanding Domestic and Sexual Abuse and have been accepted to undertake a PhD research study exploring secondary school teachers' understanding of emotional abuse and coercive control.
Professional training includes: completion and co-deliverance of P.A.C.E. (therapeutic parenting model) training; counselling level 3, non-violent communication level 2, autism and dyslexia training, safeguarding training. I have Enhanced DBS.
